Senior Trucking Dispatcher - Remote

Our client, a leading national trucking company, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Trucking Dispatcher to join their fully remote operations team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of freight across the country, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries while optimizing routes and driver schedules. You will serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, clients, and other stakeholders, addressing operational challenges and providing real-time updates. Your duties will include planning and assigning loads, tracking shipments using advanced logistics software, monitoring driver performance and compliance, and resolving any issues that may arise during transit, such as delays, breakdowns, or route changes. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the trucking industry, logistics, and dispatch operations, with at least 6 years of progressive experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a senior dispatch or supervisory role. Proven experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment are essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are critical for success in this remote position. You must be adept at utilizing technology to manage complex logistics challenges and foster strong relationships with drivers and clients. Key Responsibilities: Plan, assign, and track all assigned loads and routes. Serve as the primary contact for drivers, providing clear instructions and support. Communicate with clients regarding shipment status and delivery times. Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to manage dispatch operations efficiently. Monitor driver hours of service and ensure compliance with DOT regulations. Address and resolve any transportation-related issues or emergencies in a timely manner. Optimize routes and schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. Maintain accurate records of dispatched loads, driver activities, and delivery confirmations. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and coordinated logistics operations. Foster strong working relationships with drivers and contribute to driver retention. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field preferred. 6+ years of experience in trucking dispatch or transportation operations. 3+ years of experience in a senior dispatch or supervisory role. Extensive knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service (HOS). Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) software. Strong geographical knowledge and understanding of logistics networks. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
