We're looking for a system administrator who can implement and maintain a system to help us deploy technical solutions across the various agencies that make up the State government. As a system administrator on our team, you'll ensure the current infrastructure is functional and available. You'll help clients overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management. Your knowledge will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. Some of the day to day opportunities include: Managing, optimizing, and securing our system infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems. Overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of critical systems and applications, while proactively identifying and resolving technical issues. Managing both on-premises and cloud environments, automating routine tasks, and implementing best practices to enhance system performance. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless systems operations and provide guidance to junior administrators to promote a culture of operational excellence. Management of systems infrastructures, implementing best practices to Identify and recommend system functional specifications, configuration of physical and virtual systems, backup and recovery of IT infrastructure. Updating and supporting systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space. Implementing critical patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues. PLEASE NOTE: This position will support the Department of Corrections (DOC) and/or the Department of Public Safety. These agencies require the successful completion of an additional background check, including a physical exam (by position), suitability screening, and urinalysis. Successful candidates may also be subject to random drug screening throughout the course of employment.
