SENIOR SPECIALIZED SALES REPRESENTATIVE

SUMMARY The Senior Sales Representative is responsible for driving growth and stability within Warren’s Specialized Division through sound sales and marketing practices to develop and service customers in the flatbed, step deck, and open deck markets. This role focuses on securing specialized freight opportunities, including over-dimensional, project-based, and complex shipments, while ensuring compliance with all securements, permitting, and safety requirements. This individual contributor will leverage an established book of business and expand market presence by identifying and onboarding new customers, while serving as a liaison between the customer and Warren to deliver innovative and reliable solutions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Build new and maintain current relationships with customers in the specialized freight market. Onboard new customers, ensuring a seamless transition and clear communication of open deck service capabilities. Provide exceptional customer service with a focus on specialized and project freight requirements. Manage customer expectations and resolve challenges related to permits, routes, and securement in a timely manner. Identify new markets, customer leads, and project opportunities within flatbed, step deck, and open deck transportation. Present, promote, and sell services tailored to specialized freight customers. Prepare and deliver proposals and presentations addressing open deck solutions and compliance considerations. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close deals, under the guidance of the VP, Specialized Division. Solicit loads from current customers and proactively pursue project-based opportunities. Provide solutions for complex freight challenges and escalate when appropriate. Communicate with Company operations and department managers to ensure alignment with customer needs and service delivery. Work remotely, travel as needed, including quarterly visits to our Corporate Office in Waterloo, IA. Meet monthly sales goals and achieve monthly scorecard targets. Perform other duties, tasks, or responsibilities as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Four-year college degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent preferred. Three years of transportation sales experience, preferably with open deck, specialized, or project freight in an owner-operator environment. Knowledgeable of specialized securement practices, permits, routing, CSA regulatory issues, HOS, and shipping laws. Demonstrated ability to utilize sales tools such as ZoomInfo to generate prospects and new business. Self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Proven sales and negotiation skills in high-value or specialized freight markets. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Persistent, results-driven professional with resilience in overcoming setbacks. Strong work ethic, integrity, and trustworthiness. Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
