Controllership mostly covers Cash Accounting, general accounting, client accounting, reconciliations, closing & reporting, system maintenance, governance related sub-processes. Every process contributes to our quarterly & annual financial close process and ensure that we have accurate external reporting.Role Summary/Purpose:This role will support Cash Accounting processes including daily balancing of customer related payment activity, disbursements, month-end close, and month-end reconciliations. Essential Responsibilities:Detailed knowledge of process flow of assigned accounts and Blackline balancing proceduresCompletion of daily balancing/tasks for all assigned accounts and monitoring of aged items in accordance with assigned thresholdsResearch/follow up on all reconciling items for assigned accounts with strong root cause/action plans documented.Process improvement ideas for assigned accounts and implementation of small scope improvementsCompletion of month-end responsibilities including journal entry preparation and reconciliations in accordance with SYF standardsSupport of Governance initiatives including job aid preparation, updates, and testingSupport adhoc reporting requestsOther duties as assignedQualifications/Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance1-2 years of accounting experienceExcellent communication skills – both oral and writtenFor Internal Applicants: Understand the criteria or mandatory skills required for the role, before applying.Inform your Manager or HRM before applying for any role on Workday.Ensure that your Professional Profile is updated (fields such as Education, Prior experience, Other skills) and it is mandatory to upload your updated resume (Word or PDF format)Must not be any corrective action plan (First Formal/Final Formal, PIP)Employees who have completed 12 months in the organization and 12 months in current role and level are only eligible.Desired Characteristics:Excellent analytical and problem solving skillsSoftware Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Excellent organization and follow up skillsAbility to execute in a fluctuating environmentDemonstrated commitment to quality and customer serviceExperience with reconciliation systems (Blackline)Experience with Treasury systemsExperience with OraclePrior banking experienceGrade/Level: 07Job Family Group:Finance
