Senior Software Quality Engineer 1

Overview



We are seeking our new Senior Software Quality Engineer 1 to join the Axway team!

Responsibilities

What you will do

Understanding requirements, creating test approaches, writing test scenarios and test cases

Perform story/requirement/SIT/Regression testing and defect logging

Provide inputs during scrum activities and daily reporting to the lead/manager

Follow all the defined QA processes and best practices with a review of testing artifacts

Writing test plan and test strategy

Use your deep functional knowledge and help in product enhancement.

Supporting governance of product team to ensure quality and efficiency of solutions

Contributing to defining the product roadmap and supporting end-to-end delivery of the product releases & communication with different stakeholders.

Help in building software products for banking and financing institutions with R&D teams that are openly collaborative, are non-hierarchical, respect contributions, and work with agility

Enable, empower, and encourage teams for continuous improvement of technology and processes

Challenging and supporting people and engineering practices to improve the quality of product

Act as a mentor to the team and reinforce organizational values and culture



Qualifications



Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher engineering degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent additional professional experience.

4-7 years of experience in software testing with manual and automation skills in a global organization.

Hands-on with testing activities like requirement analysis, Test plan creation, Test case writing, Test case execution, defect logging, and review of testing artifacts.

Hands-on experience in API testing using tools like SoapUI, Postmaster, etc.

Hands-on experience with automation tools like Selenium.

Basic understanding of API automation tools like Rest Assured etc.

Good understanding of programming languages like Java etc.

Proficiency in any Test Management tool like HP-ALM/JIRA, etc.



Preferred Qualifications

Has a good understanding and experience of different types and levels of testing and test metrics.

Able to identify the test data required for testing and able to create needed test data/mocks as required.

Experience in review of test artifacts (scenarios, test cases, dataset, defects definition) and ensuring proper coverage.

Good knowledge and hands-on experience working with SQL, and Database (understanding of table, relations, schema)

Knowledge of UAT and should have participated in UAT or Beta testing

Proficiency in any Test Management tool like HP-ALM/JIRA, etc.

Proactive, Motivator with good interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.

Zeal to understand and learn new domains/technology

Basic programming skills preferred

Understanding of the Agile way of working
