Our client is a cloud technology leader focused on enabling high-performance, scalable ecommerce experiences. They provide robust CloudOps infrastructure and modern hosting platforms designed specifically for ecommerce brands that demand speed, security, and reliability.
As the company realigns with its core ecommerce mission, they’re seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer who can not only contribute to core platform development but also mentor engineers and potentially evolve into a staff-level leadership role. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives in lean, focused teams and wants to help shape the future of ecommerce infrastructure.
What You Will Do
• Build, enhance, and maintain components across the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment.
• Work with a modern tech stack including Ruby, Golang, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Architect solutions that support large-scale ecommerce applications.
• Collaborate directly with the VP of Engineering and executive stakeholders on roadmap planning and strategic decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical leader across projects.
• Participate in monthly in-person team meetings (travel to Colorado expected if not local).
• Emphasize performance, maintainability, and best practices in infrastructure and application code.
• Contribute to CI/CD and deployment pipeline enhancements to improve delivery speed and reliability.
Ideal Candidate Background
• 6+ years of full-time experience in backend software development with both statically-typed and interpreted languages.
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience (e.g., leading projects, mentoring engineers).
• Deep understanding of HTTP and network transport protocols.
• Proficient with relational databases (MySQL or equivalent).
• Experience with building and orchestrating services via Docker and Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated success in architecting or contributing to scalable distributed systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience with ecommerce platforms (Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, etc.).
• Hands-on work with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent foundational knowledge.
• Experience in a small to mid-sized team environment, especially in startup or high-growth settings.
