Our team collaborates synchronously mostly from 9 AM – 2 PM PT and embraces asynchronous work to stay connected across time zones.Join us on our mission to transform lives by simplifying money, together.The Role:Monarch is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure to join our Infrastructure and Platform Engineering team during a period of hyper-growth. Reporting directly to the Head of Software Infrastructure, you will help to scale the infrastructure that powers our product, ensuring reliability, performance, and security at every layer. This is a high-impact role where you'll shape the foundation of our systems and help us scale to support millions of users.What You’ll Do:Build and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).Maintain and expand Monarch’s database infrastructure, including Aurora and RDS clusters, and support strategic efforts like sharding and scaling.Support our container orchestration systems (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automationCollaborate with engineering teams to ensure our services are observable, reliable, and performant.Continuously evaluate and introduce infrastructure tools and practices that support developer velocity and platform scalability. What You’ll Bring: 3+ years of experience working with large-scale production infrastructure with high traffic or data volume.Proficiency in Python for scripting and infrastructure automation.Experience with PostgreSQL administration or performance tuning.Deep experience with AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).Experience with containerization technologies such as ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.Strong communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.Nice to Have’s:Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or Grafana.Experience participating in incident management processes.Knowledge of cloud networking concepts such as VPC design, subnets, routing, load balancing, and security groups.Strong documentation skills and clearly communicating in writing.Typical Process:Recruiter Video Call Hiring Manager Video CallTake Home AssignmentVirtual “onsite” round consisting of 3 roundsReference Checks Offer! #LI-DNIBenefits :Work wherever you want!
