Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Ontic serves corporate security teams across key functions, including intelligence, investigations, GSOC, executive protection, and security operations.Who You AreAs a Senior Software Engineer, you take ownership of designing, developing, and optimizing scalable backend services for our SaaS platform using Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and Elastic Search. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, contributing both technical expertise and leadership. Beyond development, you drive system improvements, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across teams to shape the platform’s long-term success. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend services for a SaaS-based platform.Work with Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and Elastic Search to build high-performance applications. Develop high-performance applications using Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and Elastic Search.Optimize applications for high scalability and performance.Manage the entire product lifecycle from conceptualization to deployment. Take ownership of the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to deployment and post-launch monitoring.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system architecture and drive innovation.Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following best practices.Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to the team to ensure high-quality deliverables. Preferred Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in backend development.Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch.Prior experience working in a product-based company.Must have experience working on a SaaS-based platform. Proven experience in building and maintaining SaaS-based platforms.Strong algorithmic and problem-solving skills. In-depth knowledge of algorithmic problem-solving, system architecture, and distributed systems.Experience dealing with high-scale data and distributed systems.Knowledge of API design, microservices architecture, and system scalability.Passion for learning new technologies and sharing knowledge with others.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, milestone-driven development environment.
