We are currently expanding our U.S. team and are looking for a Senior Shopify Engineer with deep expertise in Shopify Plus development and a passion for building seamless, high-performing eCommerce platforms. Position Overview: As a Senior Shopify Engineer, you will play a critical role in architecting, developing, and maintaining customized Shopify solutions for our clients. You will work closely with UI/UX designers, backend developers, and project managers to deliver premium eCommerce experiences. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Shopify theme and app development, API integrations, and an excellent understanding of frontend performance optimization. Key Responsibilities:  Lead the architecture, development, and deployment of custom Shopify and Shopify Plus stores.  Design and implement custom Shopify themes and modify pre-existing themes as required.  Build and integrate custom Shopify apps or third-party solutions to extend store functionality.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, QA, backend) to ensure pixel- perfect and high-performance implementations.  Optimize Shopify sites for maximum speed, scalability, and SEO.  Stay up to date with the latest Shopify updates, industry trends, and best practices.  Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and code reviews for junior developers.  Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly across projects. Required Qualifications:  Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.  Must be located within the United States.  10+ years of professional software development experience, with 5+ years of focused Shopify/Shopify Plus experience.  Expertise in Liquid templating language and Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL).  Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery, and modern frontend frameworks.  Strong experience with Shopify Flow automation and low-code development environments to streamline business processes and workflows.  Experience with headless commerce setups, JAMstack, and React frameworks is a plus.  Familiarity with Shopify CLI, Git workflows, and CI/CD tools.  Strong understanding of eCommerce UX best practices, SEO, and performance optimization.  Experience integrating Shopify with ERP, CRM, fulfillment apps, and other third-party systems.  Proven experience with subscription applications such as ReCharge, Klaviyo, and other apps focused on subscription-driven eCommerce business models.  Proven track record as a liaison between onsite clients and offshore development teams—must have prior experience in this capacity.  Exceptional communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders across different time zones and cultures.  Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative team-player mindset.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Preferred Qualifications:  Experience with React or Vue.js.  Knowledge of Shopify Hydrogen and Oxygen (bonus).  Experience with internationalization/localization for global eCommerce stores.  Prior work in an agency environment or with multiple client projects.
