You will be working on Nesto Cloud, Canada’s most advanced cloud platform, delivering end-to-end technology solutions for lenders in the digital age.We are seeking a highly technical Senior ServiceNow Engineer with strong expertise in CSM, ITSM, and advanced portal development (ESC Pro and employee experience portals). This is an engineering-first role focused on building scalable ServiceNow solutions through advanced scripting, secure portal development, integrations, and automation. Reporting to the Manager, Process Automation Team, you will design and optimize workflows, integrations, and platform capabilities that support business-critical service operations. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering mindset, exceptional debugging and problem-solving skills, and a passion for building secure, scalable solutions that improve platform performance and user experience.This role requires someone comfortable working independently in a remote environment, collaborating across technical and functional teams, and maintaining strong documentation and technical communication practices.Primary ResponsibilitiesPlatform Engineering & DevelopmentDesign and develop complex ServiceNow solutions across CSM and ITSM.Build advanced Service Portal / Employee Center experiences using:○ AngularJS○ Custom widgets○ UI Builder components○ Server & client controllersArchitect secure external and internal portal access using:○ ACL strategy○ Role-based access controls○ Domain-aware design principlesDevelop modular, reusable components using:○ Script Includes○ Business Rules○ Client Scripts○ UI Actions○ GlideAjaxDesign scalable data models and scoped applications.Automation & IntegrationBuild robust integrations using:○ Integration Hub spokes○ Scripted REST APIs○ Outbound REST/SOAP calls○ Flow Designer custom actionsImplement event-driven automation patterns.Optimize performance of large data sets and high-volume workflows.Develop error handling, logging, and monitoring strategies.Governance & Platform OptimizationDefine coding standards and peer review practices.Participate in upgrade planning and remediation.Optimize instance performance and technical debt.Implement reporting and analytics to measure platform effectiveness.Required Experience & Certifications5–8+ years of hands-on ServiceNow engineering experience.3+ years focused specifically on CSM and/or ITSM.Proven experience building secure, scalable portals for multiple user audiences.Deep experience with:○ JavaScript (server-side & client-side)○ GlideRecord & Glide APIs○ AngularJS within Service Portal○ Flow Designer & Integration HubExperience implementing complex ACL and data security models.Experience supporting enterprise-level ServiceNow environments.ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)CIS – CSM or ITSM requiredHRSD certification (nice to have / not required)The RewardThe A-Team: Work alongside high-performing talent in the industry.Accelerated Growth: The slope of your learning curve here will be vertical.
