We are an established Shopify ecommerce brand with strong authority and backlinks from major publications (New York Times, CNN, Vogue, Motherly). Over time, our site has accumulated: β’ 126+ collections β’ Hundreds of blog posts (many already noindexed) β’ Redirect chains, 404s, and legacy URLs β’ A mix of organic, paid, and press-driven traffic We are looking for a senior SEO consultant to strategically reduce index bloat, fix redirects and errors, preserve link equity, and create a clean keyword-to-page map β without harming rankings, paid traffic, or authority. This is not a junior task or a mass-deletion project. βΈ» Scope of Work (High Level) 1. Collection & Blog Audit β’ Audit all collections and blog posts β’ Identify pages to keep, merge, noindex, or remove β’ Resolve keyword cannibalization β’ Reduce overall index bloat intentionally 2. Redirects, 404s & Internal Link Cleanup (Critical) β’ Audit existing 404 errors β’ Implement 301 redirects where appropriate β’ Handle complex scenarios, including: β’ Pages being deleted that already have URLs redirecting to them β’ Redirect chains that must be simplified β’ Live pages internally linking to deleted URLs β’ Ensure internal links are updated, not just redirected We expect the consultant to understand: β’ When to redirect vs update internal links β’ How to avoid redirect chains and loops β’ How to preserve link equity during consolidation. 3. Keyword Research & Mapping β’ Perform keyword research for remaining pages β’ Assign one primary keyword per page β’ Create a keyword-to-URL map β’ Identify optimization priorities 6.
