Join us at Taskrabbit, where your work will be meaningful, your ideas valued, and your potential unleashed!.This role will be remote-first with limited travel through August 2025 with the expectation that employees will begin working 2 days per week in our dedicated office space in New York City starting in September of 2025.About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our lean and high-impact team. Reporting directly to the Security Engineering Manager, you will work collaboratively with two other engineers. You'll be responsible for owning and executing technical security initiatives across our dynamic, cloud-native infrastructure, driving security improvements at speed and scale.The ideal candidate is a seasoned technical security generalist with a proven track record in securing modern, cloud-native environments. Known for your execution velocity, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to lead by example, you will make a significant impact on our security posture.What You'll Work On:

Design and implement technical security controls aligned to CIS requirements
Integrate security into CI/CD and infrastructure pipelines
Build and maintain security automation for detection, response, and evaluate new security technologies and tools
Respond to security alerts, lead incident response investigations, and support requests in an on-call rotation
Drive vulnerability management and system hardening
Contribute to security documentation, risk assessments, and policy development
Manage and maintain IT security infrastructure and participate in IT asset security reviews
Your Areas Of Expertise:

5+ years in a similar role
Experience securing cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) and proficient with Terraform or similar IaC tools
Familiarity with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and secure coding principles
Experience with SIEM, EDR, or detection pipelines (e.g. Crowdstrike, Datadog, etc.)
Proficiency in scripting/automation languages (e.g. Python, Bash, Go, etc.)
Bonus


Exposure to SOC 2, CIS, or general compliance control frameworks
Certifications (OSCP, GSEC, CKS, AWS Certified Security - Specialty, GCLD, GCPN, etc.)
Compensation & Benefits:At Taskrabbit, our approach to compensation is designed to be competitive, transparent and equitable. total compensation consists of base pay + bonus + benefits + perks.The base pay range for this position is $115,000 - $160,000. This range is representative of base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, geography, and level.You'll love working here because:
