Senior Sales Engineer - Federal
RSA is seeking a Federal Pre‑Sales Engineer to support our U.S. Federal business. This role is responsible for providing technical leadership throughout the federal sales cycle, partnering closely with Federal Sales, Channel partners, and government customers to design, demonstrate, and validate RSA’s identity and access security solutions.You will act as a trusted technical advisor to federal customers, helping them solve complex identity, authentication, and access challenges while ensuring alignment with federal security standards, compliance frameworks, and mission requirements.Principal Responsibilities:Partner with Federal Account Executives to support opportunities across U.S. Federal agenciesLead technical discovery to understand mission requirements, security constraints, and compliance needsDesign secure, scalable architectures using RSA’s identity and access security solutionsSupport the full sales lifecycle, from early‑stage qualification through closeDeliver technical presentations, architecture reviews, and product demonstrations to federal customersLead and support:Proofs of Concept (POCs)Technical evaluationsRFP/RFI technical responsesClearly articulate RSA’s value proposition and technical differentiation in federal use casesEnsure solutions align with federal standards and frameworks such as:NIST (e.g., SP 800‑53, 800‑63)FedRAMPFISMAZero Trust Architecture (ZTA) initiativesSupport discussions around accreditation, authorization, and security posture as requiredWork closely with federal systems integrators, resellers, and technology partnersSupport partner‑led opportunities and joint customer engagementsEnable partners with technical knowledge, best practices, and solution guidanceCollaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teamsProvide feedback from federal customers to influence roadmap and enablement prioritiesMaintain accurate opportunity documentation and technical notes in CRM systemsRequired Skills, Education & Experience:Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent5+ years of previous experience as Systems EngineerAuthentication and/ or Identity Governance Access Management Strong experience in cybersecurity, with focus on one or more of the following:Identity & Access Management (IAM)Authentication, MFA, SSO, PasswordlessAccess governance and identity lifecycleSecure access in hybrid and cloud environmentsAbility to design and explain complex security architecturesExperience supporting U.S. Federal customers in a pre‑sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting roleFamiliarity with federal procurement processes and longer sales cyclesExperience working with regulated and mission‑critical environmentsExcellent communication and presentation skillsComfortable engaging with technical, security, and executive stakeholdersStrong problem‑solving mindset and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple opportunities in parallelSecurity Requirements:U.S. citizenship requiredActive or ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (level dependent on role and customer)Preferred Skills: Prior experience with federal identity or access security programsKnowledge of Zero Trust initiatives within the federal governmentExperience supporting DoD, civilian agencies, or intelligence community customersRelevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, CCSP, vendor certifications)Work Conditions:Flexibility to cover all US time zonesBusiness Travel RequiredPay range: $140k -$180kRSA is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and applicants for employment and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
