Senior Research Scientist, Molecular Biology

Our client, a leader in pharmaceutical innovation, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Scientist specializing in Molecular Biology to join their dynamic team in Raleigh, North Carolina . This role is crucial for driving cutting-edge research and development initiatives focused on discovering and validating novel therapeutic targets. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of molecular mechanisms, cell signaling pathways, and genetic manipulation techniques. Responsibilities include designing and executing complex experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and contributing to the development of new drug candidates. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and clinical scientists, to advance projects from discovery through preclinical development. Proficiency in a range of molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA, and gene editing (e.g., CRISPR-Cas9) is essential. Experience with high-throughput screening methods and next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies is highly desirable. The ability to troubleshoot experiments, identify potential pitfalls, and propose alternative solutions is critical. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities to present findings at internal meetings and contribute to publications and patent applications. The candidate must be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting stringent deadlines in a fast-paced research environment. A PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related life science discipline is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience. Experience in oncology or immunology research is a significant advantage.
