While this is a hands-on role focused on quality assurance processes, you'll also have the opportunity to influence testing strategy and best practices as the team grows. We're looking for someone who is a QA expert in every sense of the word: someone who is deeply knowledgeable about testing methodologies, quality standards, and who excels at ensuring systems and features are robust, scalable, and user-friendly.About the roleAs their user base continues to rapidly grow, you'll dive deep into the product's most critical components to identify risks and ensure high reliability.You'll work with the engineering team to define and execute testing strategies for large-scale features, managing complex requirements across multiple systems.You'll manage, maintain, and update their QA testing platform with new test cases and conduct test runs to verify and validate that new features work as expected and regression is not introduced across systems.You'll own and drive manual testing efforts, while collaborating with automation engineers to streamline processes.You'll work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure seamless feature delivery that meets the highest quality standards.You'll contribute to planning discussions, helping to ensure quality is prioritized throughout the product roadmap.About youYou love solving intricate quality challenges and are relentless in your pursuit of a polished, bug-free product.You have experience with large-scale systems and understand the challenges of testing complex, real-time applications.You thrive in cross-functional teams, seamlessly collaborating with engineering, product, and design teams to balance priorities and ensure quality.You have a startup mindset: resourceful, adaptable, and excited about building processes in a growing company.You're detail-oriented, taking pride in catching even the smallest issues.You're thoughtful and strategic, balancing short-term needs with long-term improvements in quality processes.You're a quick learner, able to understand new systems and technologies quickly to provide valuable insights.You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive into testing wherever it's needed.Requirements3-6 years of hands-on experience in QA, owning the testing lifecycle for entire products or complex features.Strong expertise in functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing methodologies.Familiarity with database systems and experience validating database-driven applications.Experience working in Agile development practices and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.Proven experience setting up QA best practices and defining processes to ensure product quality at scale.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and ensuring quality standards in fast-paced deployment cycles.Strong understanding of test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Qase) and bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira).Nice to haveExperience collaborating with automation and engineering teams to define and validate automated test coverage.Familiarity with Shopify or ecommerce platforms.Exposure to advanced data systems or event-driven applications and databases.Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.What we offerCompetitive compensation ($36,000-$48,000 annually)Flexible remote work policyGenerous time off policy (17-20 days PTO) to balance your work and life, including paid parental leave
