The OpportunityAs a Senior QA Engineer at Coursedog, you’ll play a critical role in driving product quality and elevating our testing culture as we scale. This role blends hands-on manual testing, automation leadership, and process improvement to ensure our platform is reliable, performant, and trusted by the institutions we serve. You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering in a remote-first environment to design thoughtful test strategies, increase automation coverage, and embed quality into every stage of the development lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who takes deep ownership of their craft, thrives in collaborative environments, and is motivated by building systems that “just work.” If you’re excited about improving engineering velocity through better tooling, leveraging AI to increase efficiency, and championing quality at scale, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organization.What You’ll DoOwn and execute QA tasks in Jira, preparing, documenting, and executing detailed test plans in Qase to ensure full test coverage and timely deliveryPerform thorough manual testing of new and existing platform features to validate functionality, usability, and performanceDevelop and maintain end-to-end and component-level test automation using Cypress/Playwright (JavaScript) to improve efficiency and coverageBuild and sustain automated performance testing using k6 and Grafana, and implement visual regression testing with Applitools to prevent visual defectsPartner with Engineering to strengthen CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, GitHub Actions), embedding quality gates and improving deployment confidenceCollaborate with Product and Engineering teams to scope features, identify risks, and define test strategies that support high-quality releasesContinuously improve testing processes, increase automation coverage, and drive initiatives that elevate product stability and engineering productivityLeverage AI tools to streamline QA workflows, boost productivity, and identify innovative approaches to quality assurance (Cursor, Copilot, Chatgpt, Devin, MCP servers etc.)Advocate for QA best practices across the organization, fostering a strong culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvementRequirementsWhat You’ll Bring7+ years of experience in manual and automated testing, with demonstrated ownership of quality across the software development lifecycleDeep experience with JavaScript testing frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright and k6, and strong knowledge of front-end and back-end testing best practicesProven ability to independently own processes, identify improvement opportunities, and lead quality initiatives that drive measurable impactStrong communication skills and experience collaborating with distributed, cross-functional teams in a remote-first environmentA customer-centric mindset with a strong focus on end-user experience and product reliabilityComfort operating in fast-paced environments, with the ability to adapt quickly and learn new tools or systemsCuriosity and enthusiasm for integrating AI tools into your day-to-day workflow to enhance efficiency and innovationNot sure if you should apply?
