JOB SCOPE:

The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for the monthly accounting activities including recording journal entries, preparation of monthly financial statements for assigned real estate entities

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for the preparation of monthly reporting including; journal entries, account and

bank reconciliations, cash forecasting and preparation of periodic lender compliance reports. The Senior Property Accountant

prepares financial statements of assigned real estate entities and debt compliance reports required for lenders. This position actively

participates in financial and business projects and collaborates with accounting team and other departments.

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepares and analyzes monthly financial reporting including variance analysis (actuals to budget, month-over-month)
• Reviews and reconciles general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of financial transactions. Responsible for month-end close, preparing monthly journal entries, accruals, allocations and account reconciliations
• Performs cash flow analysis to identify areas of financial weakness, trends and opportunities and presents findings to allow for improved business decisions and long-term growth and sustainability
• Provides regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis and recommends necessary actions to ensure positive ROI to the business
• Prepares bank reconciliations, identifies differences and makes necessary adjustments or corrections based on discrepancies
• Records monthly debt activity, prepares debt account reconciliations and completes lender compliance reporting
• Manages the recording of acquisitions and dispositions
• Assists with audits and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliances
• Ensures accuracy and completeness of financial data in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors Degree
• 3-4 years of related experience
• 18 years of age or older

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Bachelor s degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general accounting, real estate accounting experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; superior attention to details and proactively resolve issues
• Ability to leverage technology, systems, and automation to scale
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Aptitude to collaborate across teams, cross functionally to complete projects
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment
• Microsoft Office 365 and Yardi experience required
• Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)
