Senior Product Manager, Data Insights

Who we are:Apella is applying computer vision and machine learning to improve the standard of care in the most critical aspect of healthcare: surgery. We build applications to enable surgeons, nurses, and hospital administrators to deliver the highest quality care.Who you are:We’re hiring a Product Manager to lead the development of our data interface capabilities — including our Insights analytics platform and future direct data integrations (e.g., warehouse-to-warehouse). This is a foundational role for a new product area with significant long-term potential but a focused and scoped near-term roadmap.This role is ideal for someone who brings the technical fluency to understand system-to-system data architectures and the humility to start small, often acting as a product owner or project manager. You’ll shape early execution while laying the groundwork for a strategic product area that will grow in scope and visibility over time.In this role, you’ll:Define and execute the roadmap for external-facing data products, including Apella Insights and potential data export APIs or warehouse integrations.Collaborate with engineering, design, and customer success to deliver incremental value to our customers in our current insights product.Support the technical owners of our data sources to triage and prioritize core data needs for our data science, analytics and product teams.Serve as the connective tissue between product, data science, and customer-facing teams to ensure alignment on technical feasibility, data quality, and business impact.Evaluate new integration opportunities with healthcare data warehouses and analytics platforms.Be able to evolve the strategic vision of our insights product to support increasing future investment in the Insights product as a core driver of Operational Performance management in operating rooms, balancing what should be in the product roadmap vs. what should be professional services.What you’ll bring:5+ years of experience in product management, including working in ambiguous, technical domains.Familiarity with system-to-system data integration (e.g., APIs, data pipelines, data modeling), especially in healthcare or analytics.Comfort working with data through SQL/DS tools (Jupiter, Hex, Metabase) and/or BI Tools (Looker, PowerBI).Proven ability to deliver incremental wins while building toward a broader vision.Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, customer-facing, and executive teams.Experience or interest in healthcare technology, enterprise SaaS, or analytics platforms.What to expect from our interview process:Chat with Our Recruiter – A quick intro to get to know you and share more about Apella & the role.Meet with the Hiring Manager – Discuss your experience and work through a relevant case or technical exercise.Virtual Onsite Interviews – Meet a few team members and dive into areas like collaboration, culture, MLE coding skills, and system design.
