As a key member of our Platform Ops team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and supporting our Data Collection Appliance (DCA) environment, as well as assisting with the underlying Cisco and Palo Alto network security infrastructure. Job Summary As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of data collection through effective OS management, virtualization, and networking across customer and data center sites. You will work closely with our team to implement and manage virtualization solutions, configure and troubleshoot network security, and provide technical support for hardware and software issues. Key Responsibilities Virtualization Management : Implement and manage virtualization solutions using VMware, including configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting. Network Security : Configure and troubleshoot OpenVPN across Linux environments for secure data transfer, and provide technical support for network security in a mixed Cisco and Palo Alto environment. Network Performance : Monitor network performance and conduct regular system tests to ensure security and optimal performance. Technical Support : Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues that arise, and document network configuration, operational procedures, and network topology. Collaboration : Work closely with our team to ensure seamless integration of systems and solutions, and to identify and resolve technical issues. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications: Proficiency with Ubuntu OS and Linux-based systems : You should have extensive experience working with Ubuntu OS and Linux-based systems, including configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting. Extensive knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies : You should have in-depth knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies, including configuration, deployment, and management. Experience with OpenVPN configuration and troubleshooting : You should have experience configuring and troubleshooting OpenVPN across Linux environments for secure data transfer. Proficiency with core concepts of Palo Alto firewalling : You should have in-depth knowledge of Palo Alto firewalling, including VPN configuration and troubleshooting. Proficiency with Cisco networking / network security practices : You should have extensive experience with Cisco networking and network security practices, including configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting. Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently : You should have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Preferred Qualifications We would also like to see the following qualifications: Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash or Python : You should have experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python, and be able to write scripts to automate tasks. Experience with cloud services and migrations : You should have experience with cloud services and migrations, including configuration, deployment, and management. Knowledge of automation tools and DevOps practices : You should have knowledge of automation tools and DevOps practices, including configuration, deployment, and management. Education and Experience To be considered for this role, you will need to have: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent work experience and / or military experience : You should have a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent work experience and / or military experience. Minimum of 5 years' experience in Infrastructure Engineering or related roles : You should have at least 5 years' experience in Infrastructure Engineering or related roles. CCNA (R / S) and CCNP is required : You should have CCNA (R / S) and CCNP certifications.
