Profile Overview Our Platform Engineering team runs central infrastructure services and partners with brands to modernize their stacks. The mission: provide a âpaved roadâ of opinionated best practices (observability, backups, CI/CD, infra as code) that brands can adopt quickly, and support hands-on migrations when needed. Youâll own outcomes for a set of brands: assess where they are, recommend what âgoodâ looks like, and implement the plan. The role blends architecture, enablement, and practical engineering. Itâs senior and autonomous: youâll advise and sometimes convince stakeholders, then deliver. Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be: Complete central onboarding by pairing with a team member for ~2 weeks to learn our patterns and tooling, then start managing the brands assigned to you. Lead the onboarding of at least one brand to our âpaved roadâ standards (GitHub org, CI/CD, monitoring/observability, IaC), with positive feedback from brand leadership and our team. Deliver one or more migrations/refactors (e.g., CI/CD, infra modernization, cost/availability improvements) and document decisions so others can build on them. Your responsibilities Lead infrastructure projects for assigned brands: migrations, performance & reliability improvements, incident response practices, containerization, and cloud cost optimizations. Establish/upgrade CI/CD, infra as code, monitoring, alerting, and SLO-aligned dashboards; baseline and improve reliability with data. Advise brand CTOs/engineering leads on trade-offs and architecture; justify decisions with clear reasoning and measurable outcomes. Contribute to and consume central services (e.g., observability, backups) so brands donât reinvent the wheel. Collaborate with developers as part of the product team during engagements; troubleshoot across app and infra boundaries. Participate in an on-call rotation (lightweight today; scaling toward a fair, shared model). What You bring to the table 5+ years of experience in Platform or Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles, operating at a senior level with strong ownership and autonomy. Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (ideally Terraform). Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and best practices; able to assess, design, and modernize pipelines across diverse brand environments. Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, ELK, Prometheus, or similar) and sound judgment on what âgoodâ looks like. A background in software development or the ability to read and debug application code. Excellent communication and consulting skills; confident in advising and influencing technical stakeholders while adapting to different teams and tech stacks. Whatâs in it for You Ultimate flexibility: Weâre 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
