Senior PHP Developer (Symfony)/Software Engineer – PHP/Symfony/Symfony Application Developer- REMOTE
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer with strong Symfony expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications. The ideal candidate will have deep backend development experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across engineering and product teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain robust applications using PHP and Symfony framework
• Build reusable, scalable, and high-performance backend services
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and security
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA teams, and product managers
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers when needed
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
• Ensure adherence to software development best practices
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of professional PHP development experience
• 3+ years of hands-on Symfony framework experience
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
• Experience with Doctrine ORM
• Proficiency in MySQL / PostgreSQL
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture
• Familiarity with Git version control
• Experience with unit testing / PHPUnit
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Redis, or message queues
• Exposure to JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) is a plus
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
