Senior People Partner

Remote Full-time
About KOHO
We’re on a mission to make financial services better for every Canadian. That means no hidden fees, no predatory interest rates - just financial products designed to help our users spend smart, save more, and build real wealth. We’re a performance organization with a strong heart: we care deeply about outcomes, and everything ties back to our mission - to financially empower a generation of Canadians.
At KOHO, we’re not your average 9-5. We believe real impact comes from people who are trusted, empowered, and supported to do their best work - without sacrificing their lives to do it. We prioritize work-life integration, not just work-life balance. That means asynchronous collaboration, flexible hours, and a remote-first setup built around autonomy and high trust.
KOHO is entering its next chapter - leaner, smarter, more AI-integrated. We’re building for impact, not bureaucracy. If you thrive in environments that value clarity, ownership, and bold thinking, you’ll fit right in.

About the Role
KOHO is in the middle of a meaningful shift - from a traditional P&C function to a modern People Enablement model. We treat the employee experience the way great product teams treat user experience: with rigor, ownership, and a relentless focus on removing friction.
The Senior People Business Partner is a critical node in that system. You'll work on both strategy and execution - partnering with people managers to build high-performing teams, owning the infrastructure that makes our people operations reliable and scalable, and continuously improving the systems that shape how KOHOnians experience work. You’ll work cross-functionally with Talent and Coaching to achieve our goals.
This is not a support role. It's a builder role for someone who thinks in systems, operates with a high degree of autonomy, and holds themselves accountable to outcomes.
This role reports to the Director, People and Culture.

What You'll Own
Strategic Partnership
Serve as a trusted advisor to people managers across org design, performance, succession, and leadership effectiveness

Bring a data-informed perspective to talent decisions - identifying risks early and shaping proactive responses before they become reactive ones

Contribute to KOHO's 2026 People Enablement strategy, with a particular lens on compensation, performance and the full employee lifecycle

People Operations
Support the full employee journey: from onboarding through transitions, with consistency and care at every stage

Proactively identify opportunities to streamline People Ops workflows, leveraging AI and automation to reduce manual overhead

Ensure BambooHR data accuracy and integrity - you're the steward of the systems people rely on

Compliance
Stay current on legislation, trends, and best practices impacting compensation, benefits, immigration, and people operations in Canada and the US

Translate regulatory changes into clear internal guidance, without bureaucratic overhead

Requirements:
You have 5+ years of experience in People Business Partnering preferably with both Canada and the US markets

You operate comfortably as a strategic owner, accountable for results

Demonstrated analytical abilities, attention to detail and the ability to successfully manage multiple competing tasks and priorities

Exceptional knowledge and understanding of HR policies and processes

Comfort with AI, we are AI Native at KOHO

The budgeted salary range for this role is $110,000-$140,000 CAD / year.
At KOHO, we are dedicated to providing pay transparency to all candidates. Compensation at KOHO is determined through various factors including but not limited to: comparable salary market data within Canada, technical skill assessment, a holistic view of previous work history, and internal pay equity with other KOHO team members.

Description de poste en français

KOHO is for builders.

If you’re energized by challenge, motivated by mission, and want to be part of a team that punches above its weight - we want to hear from you.

The KOHO culture is one of collaboration, creativity, and diverse perspectives. We are committed to building and fostering an inclusive, accessible environment for everyone. If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding accessibility needs, please contact [email protected] and the People and Culture team will be happy to help.

AI Disclosure: KOHO uses artificial intelligence (AI) in certain aspects of its recruitment process to screen, assess, or select applicants. For any questions or concerns, please contact us at [email protected].
