Senior Network Engineer – Remote in MN or WI

As a member of the larger IT Infrastructure team, provide technical support for system-wide data and voice networks. This position requires knowledge of multiple systems including network circuits, routers, switches, wireless infrastructure, UPS’s and other power management systems, as well as voice and contact center systems and applications. May mentor lower-level engineers as requested. Will provide service that requires an understanding of the customers technical and business environment. Will include on-call rotation requiring work outside regular business hours. Partner with teams across IT to develop integrated solutions. Primary Responsibilities: • System administration and documentation • Work primarily remote, but may need to be on site approximately 30% as business needs require • Responsible for complex configuration and maintenance of voice and data network equipment and applications • Install, maintain and support data and voice networks and related applications • Document supported network and telecommunications systems following defined documentation standards • Provide expertise in the development of technical standards and operational procedures • Participate in planning and engineering of network and telecommunications systems • Maintaining and troubleshooting vendor network circuits • Work across IT to develop integrated solutions for customer needs • Diagnose and resolve voice and data customer issues • Proactively identify customer issues with familiarity to their technical and business environment • Provide on-call support which may result in working outside of regular business hours • Other duties as assigned You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience supporting network infrastructure and technology • Ability to work on-call • Ability to work outside of standard daytime hours as the business requires • Ability to travel to Allina sites in the Twin Cities and out of state areas as needed • Must live in MN or WI Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field • Cisco technical certification • Experience with Cisco ACI • Experience with Cisco SDA architecture • Experience with Cisco platforms: Cisco Catalyst 9300, 9400, 9500 switches. Cisco Nexus switches, 4000 and 8000 series routers • Experience with Cisco wireless infrastructure, including 9800 controllers • Ekahau design experience • Experience with routing protocols and WAN architecture • DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) experience • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
