About the Role Matcha is a decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator built by 0x , designed to help users get the best price across numerous major blockchains. Trusted by hundreds of thousands of traders and facilitating billions in trading volume, Matcha makes crypto trading simple, seamless, and user-focused. We’re building a greenfield mobile app from scratch — and we’re looking for a Senior Mobile React Native Engineer to join our team to build it. As part of a small mobile team , you’ll play a foundational role in defining and building the future of Matcha on mobile. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to shape the app’s architecture, own key technical decisions, and drive the implementation of large product features. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the end-to-end development of our new React Native mobile app for iOS and Android. Design and implement app architecture, state management, and mobile-specific infrastructure (e.g., release pipelines, telemetry, CI/CD). Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to build seamless, intuitive, and performant DeFi experiences. Own the mobile user experience and bring complex features (e.g., trading, signing, wallet connectivity) to life. Maintain a high bar for code quality, testing, and performance through code reviews and technical mentorship. Stay current with React Native and web3 best practices, tools, and community trends to continuously improve the app. Influence and steer the direction of engineering culture on Matcha’s Mobile Team. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in mobile development, with deep expertise in React Native and mobile application architecture. Proven track record of owning and delivering complex mobile projects — ideally products launched from scratch. Strong proficiency in TypeScript , React Native CLI & Expo , and native modules (Objective-C, Swift, Java, Kotlin). Experience integrating mobile apps with REST and GraphQL APIs. Familiarity with state management libraries like Zustand, MobX, Redux, or Recoil. Deep understanding of mobile performance optimization, profiling, and debugging tools. Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines and app distribution through the App Store and Google Play. Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote, async-friendly environment. Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced, product-led environment. Passion for DeFi, open finance, and building tools that empower users. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with crypto wallets (e.g., MetaMask, WalletConnect, Rabby) and web3 connectivity on mobile. Strong understanding of mobile security best practices, especially in a crypto context. Prior experience developing fully native iOS or Android apps (Objective-C, Swift, Kotlin, or Java). Experience with product analytics, user telemetry, and experimentation on mobile (e.g., A/B testing, feature flags). Familiarity with modern product development tools like GitHub, Slack, Notion, and Linear.
