This is a high-ownership, hands-on role for a seasoned accounting leader who enjoys being close to the work including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules, while also providing oversight for accuracy and execution. It’s also a great role to grow within the company.Responsibilities Include:Own and execute the monthly close process, including preparation, review, and posting of journal entries and account reconciliationsPrepare and reconcile all material balance sheet accounts, including cash, credit cards, intercompany, equity, prepaid expenses, and accrualsCapitalize, amortize, and reconcile commissions and other prepaid or deferred costsRecord and reconcile revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled revenue in accordance with ASC 606Apply cash receipts, reconcile accounts receivable, and maintain the allowance for doubtful accountsOversee and directly review all cash activity, including accounts payable, payroll, cash receipts, and bank transfersPerform detailed review of payroll runs and prepare or review payroll-related journal entries and accrualsRecord and reconcile inventory changes, lease amortization, and stock-based compensationExecute and reconcile intercompany transactionsPrepare monthly financial statements and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to support leadership decision-makingServe as the primary, hands-on point of contact for external auditsIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalabilityRequired Qualifications:CPA or CMA6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant hands on responsibility at a high-growth, startup, or healthtech environmentStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including subscription-based revenue recognition (ASC 606)Experience owning the full monthly close process and producing accurate, audit-ready financial statements and supporting schedulesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and modelsExperience serving as a primary point of contact for external auditorsExperience using Campfire, Ramp, Anrok, and/or RipplingYou’ll be a good fit here if you are:Comfortable operating as a player-coach and personally preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedulesHighly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityComfortable working in evolving systems and building processes as the company scalesAble to balance speed and accuracy in a fast-moving environment with shifting prioritiesA clear and confident communicator with both finance and non-finance stakeholdersProcess-minded, with a continuous improvement mentalityCylinder is an equal opportunity employer.
