Senior Logistics and Supply Chain Director - Remote
Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce enterprise, is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Logistics and Supply Chain Director to lead their global operations. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to manage complex supply chain networks from anywhere. We are looking for a strategic leader who can optimize inventory management, transportation, warehousing, and fulfillment processes to drive efficiency and cost savings. As a remote-first organization, we leverage technology and collaboration to ensure seamless operations and provide exceptional customer experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing comprehensive global logistics and supply chain strategies to support business growth and operational excellence. Overseeing all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and order fulfillment. Identifying and mitigating risks within the supply chain, ensuring business continuity and resilience. Negotiating contracts with carriers, 3PL providers, and other supply chain partners to achieve favorable terms and service levels. Implementing and optimizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to enhance visibility and efficiency. Analyzing supply chain performance data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven solutions. Leading and mentoring a high-performing remote team of logistics and supply chain professionals. Staying abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting supply chain operations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and achieve strategic objectives. Managing operational budgets and driving continuous cost reduction initiatives without compromising service quality.
The ideal candidate will possess an MBA or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in complex global supply chains. Proven experience in e-commerce logistics and managing large-scale distribution networks is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills are required. Expertise in WMS and TMS software, along with a deep understanding of international trade and customs regulations, is highly desirable. Excellent communication and leadership abilities are critical for managing a remote team and collaborating effectively with stakeholders worldwide.
