Staff Accountant - Remote | Better Living Corporate Support

Position Summary

The Accountant supports Better Living's mission by maintaining accurate, compliant, and transparent financial operations for our small, multi-state organization. This role manages daily accounting functions and timely financial insights.
Working fully remote, the Accountant brings professionalism, integrity, and a service-oriented approach that helps our teams stay focused on delivering exceptional care to residents and families.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Reporting
β€’ Maintain accurate general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
β€’ Prepare financial statements, budget summaries, and variance reports for leadership.
β€’ Track cash flow, monitor expenses, and support forecasting.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
β€’ Process invoices, vendor payments, and reimbursements with accuracy and timeliness.
β€’ Manage receivables, monitor aging, and support collections when needed.
Qualifications
β€’ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
β€’ 2+ years of accounting experience;
β€’ Strong understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
β€’ Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
β€’ Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
β€’ Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication.
β€’ High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
