GEICO is seeking a skilled, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our Legal Department as a Senior Legal Assistant, Commercial Contracts . This role will primarily support the Commercial Contracting Team and involve a broad range of responsibilities related to contracting. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, written, and task management skills, and be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and strategic thinking abilities.

Responsibilities
• Assist with all aspects of commercial contracting, including:
• Review, document, and process contract request intake and assignment to contracting leads.
• Manage the contract lifecycle management platform to assist the Senior Director, Contracting Lead, in monitoring workload management.
• Conduct various contract hygiene activities, including editing contracts, updating templates, playbooks, and other materials used for negotiations.
• Prepare contract execution packages, including gathering relevant materials and contract documents for approval and signature.
• Conduct reviews of documents and legal research as requested by contracting leads.
• Interact with business customers and deal sponsors as applicable.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with legal and business subject matter experts (SMEs), and with external vendors.
• Assist in project managing strategic deals.
• Assist in creating/maintaining/closing legal matters and otherwise keeping matter records organized.
• Provide project and assistant support as needed to ensure smooth operations and successful completion of tasks.
• Provide other administrative or paralegal support as needed.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree
• 7+ years of legal assistant experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong research skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to process highly confidential/sensitive data and maintain discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

• Experience with contract lifecycle management systems.
• Experience in the insurance industry.
