About the position

The Multifamily - Internal Audit - Senior Associate role at Fannie Mae involves examining and analyzing accounting and operational records to assess financial status, efficiency, and effectiveness of operating and reporting procedures. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work alongside a supportive team, contributing to internal audits and reviews within the Multifamily division.

Responsibilities
Ā• Apply technical knowledge and expertise to conduct internal audits and reviews across Fannie Mae's Multifamily division.

Ā• Assist with audit planning and drafting initial audit scope.
,
Ā• Document details of planning and walkthrough meetings.
,
Ā• Assist in identifying controls to mitigate potential risk factors within assigned process/areas.
,
Ā• Contribute to the development and maintenance of risk-based audit plans.
,
Ā• Develop, document and execute audit test steps in partnership with more senior team members.
,
Ā• Assist in evaluating controls and in identifying control gaps.
,
Ā• Conduct substantive testing, such as tests of detailed activities and transactions or analytical review tests.
,
Ā• Document and maintain sufficient supporting information and facilitate the presentation of findings and conclusions in accordance with work paper standards.
,
Ā• Identify and discuss audit findings with audit team and document exceptions.
,
Ā• Assist with drafting audit reports and other key deliverables.
,
Ā• Assist in coaching more junior team members on projects to help with their development.

Requirements
Ā• 2 years of experience in risk, audit, or control roles and/or public accounting.
,
Ā• Knowledge of credit risk management, commercial real estate, and fraud risk.

Nice-to-haves
Ā• Bachelor degree or equivalent.
,
Ā• CIA, CPA, CISA certification preferred or in the processes of obtaining.
,
Ā• Knowledge of mortgage industry and relevant financial products.
,
Ā• Knowledge of the audit life cycle, including planning, design assessment, operating effectiveness testing, reporting, and issue monitoring.
,
Ā• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
,
Ā• Must understand how businesses operate in general; must be able to learn new methods and technologies easily.
