Senior Infrastructure Engineer *

Opportunity: VSO is seeking a senior engineer with deep expertise in storage platforms, SAN fabric design, backup/restore architecture, DR orchestration, and advanced troubleshooting across the entire stack. This role owns RCA development, architecture validation, escalations from L2, and execution of complex MACD or infrastructure enhancements. Key Responsibilities: • Design, manage, and optimize SAN arrays and storage systems in scope (NetApp, Pure, Infinidat, Nimble, VSAN). • Architect and troubleshoot LUNs, datastores, replication, deduplication, snapshots, and DR failover processes. • Lead firmware/OS upgrades for SAN, compute hosts, and backup appliances. • Own Avamar/Data Domain environment health, capacity, replication, and restore performance. • Act as final escalation for server, virtualization, and cloud platform incidents. • Coordinate and validate vendor escalations and hardware replacements. • Create complex runbooks (disaster recovery, storage provisioning, backup retention policies). • Participate in environment baselining, service health reviews, and performance analytics per SOW. • Lead root-cause analysis and produce technical reports. • Mentor L1/L2 engineers. Requirements: • 7 - 9 years of relevant, professional experience • Proficient with: NetApp, Pure storage, Infinidat & Nimble, VMware VSAN, Ansible • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status.
