Senior Health & Benefits Consulting Analyst
Mercer, a Marsh business, is seeking a talented individual to join their Health & Benefits team. The role involves strategy, design, implementation, and administration of client companies’ health and welfare programs, focusing on managing the RFP process and collaborating with internal teams and external carriers.ResponsibilitiesSupport the consulting team by gathering, organizing, entering, and analyzing data in Excel for client projects, with an emphasis on results analysis and project managementCollect and interpret vendor network offerings and financial proposals via RFPs, summarizing findings in Excel or PowerPoint for client presentationsDevelop cost projections and vendor renewal evaluations to inform client meetingsManage the quality and timeliness of client deliverables, assist with budget reports, participate in client and vendor calls, prepare clear communications, and resolve most issues, escalating complex matters as neededBuild foundational knowledge of products, services, vendor markets, underwriting, financial skills, and technical tools through training, online courses, and mentorshipSkillsBachelor's degree0-3 years of experience in the health industry or HR; professional internship experience at the minimumDemonstrated quantitative analytical skillsStrong business acumen paired with intellectual curiosityExcellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsCapacity to multitask, manage competing priorities with strong time management skillsAbility to exercise independent thinkingAbility to work at a fast pace, both independently and in a team environmentProficiency using Microsoft Office — Word, Excel, and PowerPointPrior experience with benefits, insurance, underwriting, and/or risk managementAdvanced Excel skills; VLOOKUP and other formulas, pivot tablesBenefitsHealth and welfare benefitsTuition assistance401K savings and other retirement programsEmployee assistance programsCompany OverviewMarsh (NYSE: MRSH) is a global leader in risk, strategy and people, advising clients in 130 countries across four businesses: Marsh Risk, Guy Carpenter, Mercer and Oliver Wyman.
