Senior FP&A Analyst – Operations (Remote)
Overview
A fast-growing short-term rental platform is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst – Operations to support operational leadership with financial analysis, forecasting, and performance insights. This role is highly hands-on and analytical, focused on unit economics, margin performance, and operational efficiency across a multi-market portfolio. The position is fully remote and works closely with Operations, Revenue Management, and Accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Operational FP&A Support
• Partner with Operations and Revenue teams to support day-to-day and strategic decision making
• Translate operational metrics into financial insights across properties and markets
• Support finance-driven recommendations tied to pricing, staffing, and cost control
Forecasting & Modeling
• Support monthly and quarterly operating forecasts and annual budget processes
• Build and maintain detailed financial models related to:
• Property- and market-level unit economics
• Contribution margin and profitability
• Labor, vendor, and operating cost drivers
• Assist with modeling for new markets, property onboarding, and operational initiatives
Reporting & Performance Analysis
• Prepare recurring reporting packages for leadership highlighting key KPIs, including:
• Occupancy, ADR, RevPAR
• Property-level profitability and margin trends
• Variance analysis versus forecast and budget
• Provide clear, concise commentary explaining financial and operational results
Cost & Margin Analysis
• Analyze operating expenses and cost-to-serve by market and property
• Identify opportunities for margin improvement and operational efficiencies
• Support pricing, fee structure, and cost optimization initiatives
Cross-Functional & Ad Hoc Analysis
• Partner with Accounting to ensure forecast-to-actual alignment
• Support ad hoc analysis, board materials, and investor reporting as needed
• Contribute to reporting automation and process improvements as the business scales
Qualifications
• 5–8+ years of experience in FP&A, operational finance, or analytics
• Experience in short-term rental, hospitality, travel, or other multi-unit operating environments strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• Experience working with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar)
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate insights to non-finance stakeholders
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
