Senior Financial Controller - SaaS
Our rapidly growing SaaS company is looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Controller to join our fully remote finance team. This role is integral to overseeing all aspects of financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to drive business growth. You will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and managing the accounting team. This position requires a strong understanding of SaaS financial metrics and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal management and external stakeholders. Develop and manage the company's annual budget and periodic forecasts, working closely with department heads. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including tax filings and audits. Manage the relationship with external auditors and facilitate the annual audit process. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency. Develop and refine financial policies and procedures to support the company's growth and scalability. Implement and optimize accounting software and systems to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities. Provide strategic financial guidance and support to the executive leadership team. Stay current with accounting standards, SaaS industry trends, and best practices in financial management.
Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role. Strong experience within the SaaS industry, with a deep understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, Churn, LTV, CAC). Proficiency in GAAP and experience with financial reporting standards. Expertise in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise) and advanced Excel skills. Proven ability to implement and maintain effective internal controls. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a remote team effectively. Experience working remotely and proficiency with virtual collaboration tools is essential. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
