About the position
GEICO is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to drive the transformation of its insurance business by building high-performance, low maintenance, zero-downtime platforms and applications. Responsibilities
Ā Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems

Ā Build product definition and leverage technical skills to drive towards the right solution
,
Ā Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
,
Ā Lead design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate engineering quality
,
Ā Define, create, and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspective
,
Ā Utilize programming languages like Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Dart, Python, C#, SQL, and NoSQL databases
,
Ā Utilize Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and various Azure tools and services
,
Ā Mentor other engineers
,
Ā Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
,
Ā Utilize developer tooling across the software development life cycle for Mobile/Web/UI design, implementation, and maintenance activities
Requirements
Ā Fluency and specialization with at least two modern languages such as Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSX, Dart, Python, C++, or C#
,
Ā Proven understanding of micro-services architecture and extensible REST APIs
,
Ā Experience in leveraging PowerShell scripting
,
Ā Fluency in DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, and Azure DevOps Operational Framework
,
Ā Experience in existing Operational Portals such as Azure Portal
,
Ā Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments
,
Ā Experience in Datacenter structure, capabilities, and offerings, including the Azure platform and its native services
,
Ā Experience in security protocols and products: Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth
,
Ā Experience in Azure Network (Subscription, Security zoning, etc)
,
Ā In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms
,
Ā Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
,
Ā Experience building the architecture and design of new and current systems
,
Ā Experience with Architecture components and Navigation Architecture Components

Ā Experience in Application Frameworks

Ā Experience with Gradle
,
Ā Experience with Android Studio, VS Code, or a similar IDE
