Senior Director, Instructional Design
Senior Director of Instructional Design leading the development of innovative educational content for new AP courses at College Board's Advanced Placement and Instruction division. This role shapes the future of AP offerings through prototyping, testing, and refining instructional materials for a portfolio serving 3+ million students annually.
Key Responsibilities: Develop content requirements by collaborating with subject matter experts to translate research into actionable specifications aligned with AP standards; lead instructional prototyping efforts for new course components including sample topics, skills, and project-based learning tasks; support piloting processes and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that evolve prototypes into scalable, high-quality materials.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and learning sciences; strong project management and cross-functional collaboration abilities; proficiency in translating research into practical educational content; analytical and iterative problem-solving skills with capacity to work at strategic and operational levels.
Qualifications: Advanced degree in instructional design, education, curriculum development, or related field preferred; 10+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or educational content strategy with demonstrated success leading complex initiatives and managing stakeholder relationships.
