Job Description

The Senior Director will be expected to manage day to day operations of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

General tasks and responsibilities will include:
Β• In the absence of the CDEIO, direct DEI Sr, Managers and interns.
Β• Manage day to day operations of DEI office.
Β• Lead internal collaborations to integrate DEI practices into core people practices and standard work across the System in alignment with the integrated DEI strategic business framework and roadmap.
Β• Utilize DEI research to develop evidence-based initiatives; addressing DEI gaps and improvement benchmark other organizations and industries to identify applicable best practices.
Β• Develop, launch, and execute DEI strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with the strategic priorities of NYC Health + Hospitals.
Β• Establish internal collaborations to integrate DEI practices into core people practices and standard work across NYC Health + Hospitals in alignment with the integrated DEI and NYC Health + Hospitals framework.
Β• Develop, collect, analyze, interpret & report on DEI metrics to determine program effectiveness, track progress and identify opportunities for continued organizational development.
Β• Provide overall guidance and support to our Inclusion groups, spearheading the development and growth of the groups and their sponsors (inclusive of infrastructure, growth, ROI and budget management) to ensure ongoing, lasting impact.
Β• Contract management/monitoring supporting DEI initiatives
Β• Conduct research and analysis to identify and address DEI gaps and remain current with trends.
Β• Provide subject matter expertise, strategic planning, change management, thought leadership and partnership to drive business outcomes.
Β• Other duties as directed by Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer.
Β• Ability to travel to all NYC Health + Hospitals' sites.
Β• This is a hybrid position. (Two days remote)

Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare Administration, Health Care Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related discipline; and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and inter-organizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions;

or
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in "1" above; and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in areas, as listed in "1"; or
3. Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in disciplines, as listed in "1" above.

Department Preferences
Β• PhD in Organizational Development, Behavioral Science, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Β• Master's degree required in DEI, Organizational Development I/O Psychology, human resources, or a related field, Or equivalent experience.
Β• 7 years of experience in DEI work, (language access, gender equity, health equity) or equivalent HR Business Partner experience with demonstrated success in leading and/or actively participating in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion initiatives.
Β• Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Β• Work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Β• Demonstrated experience with diversity and inclusion processes within a large, matrixed organization.
Β• Strong written and oral/expressive communication skills for meeting facilitation and deliverable development.
Β• Able to build strong networks and effectively engage and manage stakeholders including the ability to drive, steer, convince and influence others.
Β• Strong customer focus and commitment to employee/community, and patient satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency, and professionalism.
