Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our Trust and Safety team as the Senior Director, Global Head of Adversarial Abuse and Analytics. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Adversarial Abuse team, which focuses on identifying and mitigating threats from malicious actors, and the Business Analytics team, which provides data-driven insights to inform business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Policy Development, to develop and implement effective strategies to prevent abuse and promote a safe and trustworthy environment on YouTube.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Adversarial Abuse team in identifying and mitigating threats from malicious actors, including account takeovers, spam, engagement abuse, and evasion of termination
Develop and implement strategies to prevent abuse and promote a safe and trustworthy environment on YouTube, using data-driven insights and analytics to inform decision-making
Collaborate with the Policy Development team to create policies that describe harmful behavior, using account, social, and content signals
Deliver effective and efficient operational performance, including quality and service levels, in a global team working 24x7
Manage accelerations with tight timelines, providing data-driven insights and content to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes
Build and maintain relationships with key cross-functional partners, including Product Management, Engineering, and Policy Development, to drive business outcomes and promote a safe and trustworthy environment on YouTube
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., mathematics, engineering, computer science)
4+ years of experience in risk management, fraud fighting at scale, and building/deploying analytical models
2+ years of experience working with engineering teams that shape data infrastructure and ML models
2+ years of experience leading teams with the ability to work non-standard weeks of work as accelerations require
Preferred Qualifications
Postgraduate education in a related field (e.g., mathematics, engineering, computer science)
2+ years of experience in analysis of large datasets and anomaly detection
Experience or demonstrated interest in anti-abuse activities
Knowledge of SQL, R, or Matlab
Excellent influencing and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships with cross-functional partners
Strong business judgment, strategic and analytical skills, including using data to drive strategy and business action, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing industry
