About the roleAs a Senior Designer you will play a critical role in shaping best-in-class digital commerce experiences by partnering with cross-functional teams to design visually compelling storefronts on the Shopify platform. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution to solve complex business problems through design, ensuring seamless functionality, elevated visual quality, and innovation.What you'll doCreative Commerce DesignLead the visual translation of sophisticated brand identities into distinct, cohesive, and high-impact digital experiencesLeverage advanced proficiency in Figma, including component libraries and auto-layout, to produce high-fidelity designs with system-level efficiency and consistencyChampion UX best practices and conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles to ensure designs are optimized for performance and usabilityExecute supplementary design work, including marketing assets, email designs, social graphics, and light illustrationContribute to and help evolve internal brand and marketing collateralShopify ExperienceConfigure and customize Shopify themes within Shopify Admin to align with brand and UX requirementsUnderstand Shopify capabilities, limitations, and opportunities to inform design decisionsCollaborate with developers to ensure design feasibility and high-quality implementationCollaboration & StrategyPartner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align design solutions with client goals, budget and timelineWork directly with the client to gather requirements, understand brand and customer nuancesPresent and articulate design decisions to internal teams and clients with confidenceIncorporate feedback while maintaining design integrity and user-first thinkingInnovation & GrowthStay current on design trends, emerging tools (including AI), and evolving Commerce best practicesBring forward new ideas to improve processes, tools, and creative outputMentor junior designers and contribute to a strong design cultureWhat You BringRequired Qualifications5+ years’ experience in UX/UI or digital product design, preferably in an agency or Commerce environmentStrong portfolio showcasing Commerce, UX thinking, and visual design excellenceAdvanced proficiency in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and IllustratorStrong understanding of responsive design, UX principles, and accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, AODA and inclusive design principles)Ability to balance creative vision with business objectives and technical constraintsPreferredExperience designing for Shopify or other Commerce platformsFamiliarity with AI-powered design tools (e.g. ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini, Codex, Cursor, Midjourney, Nano Banana, etc.)Motion design experience (e.g., After Effects, Framer, Jitter, etc.)Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and how designs translate to developmentExperience with A/B testing and conversion optimization strategiesKey CompetenciesStrong design fundamentals (layout, typography, color, hierarchy)Strategic thinking and problem solving mindsetHigh attention to detail and craftsmanshipEffective communication and storytelling skillsAbility to manage multiple project and meet deadlinesCollaborative, adaptable, and solutions-oriented
