About the Company and Role Workwarp is excited to partner with Delta Air Lines, Inc., a leading global airline, to fill multiple Senior Database Administrator positions. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical aspects of data analysis and database management. This involves providing project leadership, mentoring junior team members, managing database administration tools, and ensuring the integrity and performance of databases. The ideal candidate will possess proactive problem-solving skills to address major incidents and support business applications effectively. Key Responsibilities Database Administration: Understand, configure, and manage database administration tools to ensure optimal database performance. Technical Leadership: Research technology solutions and provide recommendations for implementation, leading root cause analysis efforts during major incidents. Database Support: Provide database support for business applications, schedule backup jobs, and manage access control, including password resets and account management. Compliance and Security: Check IP compliance, review violation reports, and implement database security and auditing features. Performance Tuning: Create and manage databases, including performance tuning and troubleshooting, and perform application database maintenance. Disaster Recovery: Perform database recovery from logs and backups, including Disaster Recovery, and conduct Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery activities during events. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and report on database instance and server activities, and recommend effective resource utilization and emergency recovery procedures. Team Management: Conduct team training, manage resources, and research new technologies for operations reliability and compliance. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems Technologies, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration or related fields. Experience with RedHat Linux versions 5, 6, and 7 on x86-64 platform. Experience with Oracle GoldenGate versions 12 or 19. Familiarity with major vendor backup and recovery tools, including Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity, or Actifio AGM. Experience with Oracle Clusterware/Grid Infrastructure, VCS Clustering, or IBM DB2 HADR. Proficiency in Korn, Bash Shell Scripting, or Windows PowerShell. Experience with monitoring tools, including Oracle Enterprise Manager. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following preferred qualifications can enhance your candidacy: Experience with other database management systems, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL. Knowledge of cloud-based database services, such as Amazon RDS or Google Cloud SQL. Certifications in database administration, such as Oracle Certified Professional or IBM Certified Database Administrator. Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical, business, and soft skills, including: Strong technical expertise in database administration, with a focus on Oracle databases.
