Senior Data Engineer
Vantage Analytics is looking for a Senior Data Scientist who wants to be part of a small team and have a big impact.
As a Senior Data Scientist with Vantage Analytics, you’ll be responsible for developing cutting-edge forecasting models and advanced analytics solutions. You’ll design and deploy end-to-end machine learning pipelines—from data ingestion and model development to deployment and monitoring—in cloud-based environments. Your work will transform complex data sets into actionable insights, directly influencing our strategic decision-making and innovation.
Our primary tools include Python for statistical modeling and machine learning, SQL for data extraction and analysis, and cloud-based data science workbenches (on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) to manage and scale our solutions. You’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure that our predictive models and analytics products not only perform optimally but also drive real business value.
We are a fully remote team, but are primarily based in southern Ontario, and usually get together at least once a month for planning, team building, and group work.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum of 4 years in data science, analytics, or a related field with a proven track record of building impactful data science solutions
Hands-on experience in designing and deploying end-to-end machine learning pipelines, particularly forecasting models
Demonstrated proficiency in advanced statistical methodologies—including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and time-series forecasting—to rigorously validate and interpret predictive models
Proficiency in Python (including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and SQL
Familiarity with cloud-based data science workbenches (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or GCP AI Platform) to develop scalable solutions
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights for non-technical stakeholders
Experience in ad-tech, online advertising, retailer analytics is a plus
