Senior Data Modeler/Metadata Engineer

Description & Requirements We are looking for an experienced metadata engineer and data modeler to support a cutting-edge data and analytics platform and geospatial applications for a Federal critical infrastructure agency. You will create metadata solutions to business problems such as identifying sensitive data and implementing comprehensive metadata repositories and catalogs, not only for traditional databases, but also for data lake in support of Data Governance. Major responsibilities include: • Creating and maintaining metadata objects, harvesting metadata from source systems, creating lineage between business glossary terminology and physical metadata, customizing metadata repositories, building and maintaining interfaces between metadata tools and web applications • Design, model, or implement data structures • Leverage open standards and best practice data models to minimize complexity and enable data integration with adjacent programs. • Interface with technical team members, adjacent program offices, adjacent contractors, and external stakeholders Maximus TCS (Technology and Consulting Services) Internal Job Profile Code: TCS070, T4, Band 7 Minimum Requirements: • University degree (BS) in a closely related field (Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science) • 5+ years demonstrated experience as a metadata engineer, data modeler, data architect, or closely related role • Required Certifications: AWS Data Engineer or Alation Certified Professional Preferred Key Skills and Abilities: • Experience with EPA Program offices, development methodologies, and product lifecycles Minimum Requirements TCS070, T4, Band 7 EEO Statement Active military service members, their spouses, and veteran candidates often embody the core competencies Maximus deems essential, and bring a resiliency and dependability that greatly enhances our workforce. Pay Transparency Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
