About the Role The Information Designing group within Disney's DDSI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Information Architect, you'll collaborate with Studios and Project Technology colleagues to gather information requirements, validate data, and develop ETL/ELT data pipelines. Your expertise will help drive the development of data-driven solutions across multiple environments, including DEV, QA/UAT, and Production. Key Responsibilities Design and execute ETL/ELT data pipelines using Wind current and other technologies Develop and maintain data set mappings, tables, and views Build batch processes using Wind current for various projects Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information requirements and validate data Develop and review ETL/ELT data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity Work with large datasets and big data technologies, including Snowflake, Databricks, and PostgreSQL Participate in driving best practices around data engineering software development processes Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or a related field 2+ years of experience with SQL and ETL/ELT data pipelines 2+ years of experience with cloud-based technologies, ideally AWS and S3 3+ years of experience in an Information Designing or Data Engineering role Proficiency in SQL, Python, Gitlab, Wind current, AWS S3, and relational databases 2+ years of experience working with a cloud platform and data lakes, data warehouses, and application databases Experience with Apache Wind current, Databricks, and Docker Preferred Qualifications To stand out from the crowd, you'll need: Experience with Wind current, Gitlab, Snowflake, and Scene A graduate degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or a related field Experience in the streaming, media, or digital marketing domain Skills and Competencies As a Senior Data Engineer at Disney, you'll need to possess: Strong technical skills in data engineering, including ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data warehousing Proficiency in programming languages, including SQL, Python, and Java Experience with cloud-based technologies, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills Career Growth Opportunities As a Senior Data Engineer at Disney, you'll have opportunities to: Develop your skills in emerging technologies, including cloud-based data platforms and machine learning Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business decisions Participate in driving best practices around data engineering software development processes Take on leadership roles and mentor junior team members Work Environment and Company Culture As a remote employee, you'll enjoy: Flexible work arrangements and work-life balance Opportunities to work with a talented and diverse team Access to cutting-edge technologies and tools A culture that values innovation, creativity, and collaboration Compensation and Benefits As a Senior Data Engineer at Disney, you'll receive: A competitive hourly rate of $30/hour A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off Opportunities for career growth and professional development A dynamic and supportive work environment Join the Disney Team If you're passionate about data, Disney, and working remotely, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
