Senior Data Engineer

System is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Engineer with a specialization in Electronic Medical/Health Record data to join our team. The primary responsibility for this role will be to design and deploy pipelines that integrate a data-intensive AI application with EMR/EHR data to improve patient outcomes through informed clinical decision making. The Data Engineer will report to our Head of AI and Engineering.As Data Engineer, you will:Design, build, and deploy scalable data pipelines in support of machine learning and AI workflowsWork with colleagues to design, build, and deploy applications that integrate with EMR/EHR systems, specifically EpicPrototype and research new tools for improving existing data infrastructure (e.g., vector databases and other tools for storing text embeddings)The ideal candidate has:3+ years experience supporting data-driven or ML applications in production environmentsStrong experience designing and deploying data pipelines using orchestration tools like Prefect, Airflow, or dbtHands-on experience with cloud-based data warehouse platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake)Knowledge of statistical analysis and scientific researchFamiliarity with deploying containerized applications in cloud environments (e.g., Kubernetes)Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (Postgres)A proven ability to operate in a fast-paced work environmentExcellent communication and organizational skills with a demonstrated team orientation with strong ability to drive projects autonomously as neededThe salary range for this position is $175,000 to $210,000 per year.About SystemWe aspire to help the world see itself differently and build a more responsible and values-driven model of a tech company.
