The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data engineering principles and practices, as well as experience with a variety of data processing and analysis tools. The data engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure, as well as developing and implementing data pipelines. What You’ll Do Design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelinesUse our proprietary big data to extract, transform, and load data from a variety of sourcesWork with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to design and implement data-driven solutionsRun jobs and ensure these jobs work and can scaleMonitor and maintain our data infrastructure to ensure data quality and availabilityStay up-to-date on the latest data engineering technologies and trends Tune databases Requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field5+ years of experience in data engineeringStrong understanding of data engineering principles and practicesExperience coding analytics in PythonExperience with a variety of database, including MySQL, Clickhouse, HiveExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and teamwork skillscandidate will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team Nice to Have Experience with cloud service platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)Familiarity with real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Flink)Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of data governance and compliance best practicesBackground in machine learning engineering or MLOps Additional Information Veeva’s headquarters is located in the San Francisco Bay Area with offices in more than 15 countries around the world.Veeva is an equal opportunity employer.
