This role will focus on cost transparency, operational efficiency, and provide the business with understanding of costs. ResponsibilitiesCost System Management: Develop, implement, and maintain robust cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures to enhance reporting accuracy.Inventory Control: Oversee the accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.Financial Analysis & Reporting: Analyze production and purchasing costs, manufacturing variances (labor, overhead, materials), and gross margin results to identify cost-saving opportunities and explanations of changes, support product category reporting related to cost driversStandard Costing: Establish and routinely update standard costs for materials and labor, ensuring they reflect current manufacturing or purchasing realities.Business Partnership: Collaborate with Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and R&D teams to understand cost drivers and support strategic decision-making.Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and manufacturing operations. Support annual standards process to include business partner reviews of changesRequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA) or certifications like CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are preferred.Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in cost or manufacturing accounting, including several years in a supervisory or management capacity.If you feel this opportunity could be the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply.
