Senior Consulting Actuary - Pension - Hybrid

Remote Full-time
Description

Our client is looking to add a Senior Consulting Actuary to their growing and successful practice. This firm works primarily in the multiemployer space, so having multiemployer experience would be a BIG plus, but not a requirement.
This position provides the opportunity to lead and deliver strategic actuarial consulting services to multiemployer pension plan clients. This role will oversee complex projects, offer expert guidance, and foster strong client relationships.

Duties to include:
Serve as lead consulting actuary for multiemployer pension plan clients, building trusted relationships with trustees and plan professionals, delivering clear presentations, and providing proactive, strategic guidance. Navigate complex regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and coordinate effectively with attorneys, administrators, investment consultants, and other stakeholders to support sound plan governance. Lead preparation and review of core actuarial deliverables, including valuations, zone certifications, projections, withdrawal liability, and individual benefit calculations, ensuring accuracy and professional standards. Direct and support advanced consulting engagements such as plan design studies, experience studies, mergers, and transfers, applying sound actuarial judgment to complex scenarios. Represent the firm through external speaking, writing, and professional involvement; maintain deep expertise in multiemployer pension trends; and contribute to business development, process improvement, and firm-wide strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:
Enrolled Actuary (EA) required. Fellowship/Associate of the Society of Actuaries (FSA/ASA) preferred. 12+ years of actuarial consulting experience, with a focus on multiemployer pension plans a plus. Proven ability to lead client relationships and mentor teams. Strong project management skills. Strong understanding of issues specific to multiemployer pension plans preferred. Excellent written and communication skills, including experience presenting to Boards of Trustees. Familiarity with collective bargaining and trustee dynamics.
