Senior Configuration Engineer

These activities include: configuring the software through the user interface, through back-end databases, scripts and via software tools; tracking, managing and providing regular updates on the progress of requests, consulting on best practice configuration and keeping up to date on processes, tools and functionality. What you'll do: Understand the business requirements outlined in each request to create the most optimal solutionConfigure the product to meet the complex needs and requirements of the customer (using Java, Python, JSON, Groovy, Jenkins, GitHub etc.)Collaborate with project managers and customers to ensure SLAs are met and quality of configuration is maintainedAssist the project managers to gather requirements and consult with customers on the most optimal solution when requiredMentor other analysts and assist them with solution design and troubleshootingConduct peer reviews of configuration work completed by other analysts to ensure quality based on the original specificationsUse case tracking systems to track and manage requestsProvide excellent customer service to customers by phone, email and SalesforceAcquire technical product knowledge through training, self-directed research and testing, and internal consultationTest completed configuration to ensure solutions meet the original requestProactively provide updates to project managers and follow up with customers where needed on active requestsAct as an internal technical product knowledge resource in collaborative training, testing and troubleshooting activities with colleaguesKey resource on implementations that are identified as higher-revenue, sensitive, complex and/or strategicRecognize best practice improvements and offer suggestions for new best practicesRecognized SME within the implementation team on at least one specific moduleAssist Configuration Analysts I & II with complex functions and database queriesCollaborate with the various product teams to understand new functionality and assist in documenting the implementation processEvaluate existing internal business processes, anticipate new requirements and identify areas for improvement Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent years’ experience3 years’ experience in customer service, support, web design/development or related role3+ years’ experience with Object Oriented Java experience in a technical environment3+ years’ experience in SQL in a Production environment2+ years’ experience with Java, Python, JSONKnowledge of enterprise-level financial applicationsWithout Bachelor’s degree: Minimum of 4 years’ experience in customer service, support, web design/development or related role; Strong knowledge and 3 years’ experience using Java, Python, Groovy, JSON, SQLExperience using SalesforceCertifications: None required What we are looking for: Critical thinking and problem-solving abilityAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment under close supervisionStrong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal); ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical usersBalance multiple concurrent requests within set workload expectationsStrong knowledge of business productivity software such as word processor and spreadsheet programs required, along with automation software experienceLearner’s mindset with drive and ability to consistently improve knowledge and abilitiesAbility to apply analytical skills to validate results and troubleshoot issues using database queriesEffectively communicate insights and proposals to cross-functional team members and management and logs Additional Information Why Emburse?Finance is changing—and at Emburse, we’re leading the way.
