This role plays a key part in maintaining a secure, scalable, and high-performing environment that supports multi-regional deployments and critical healthcare applications.Core responsibilities include scripting configurations and implementations, monitoring system health, creating alerts, optimizing Azure cost and performance, and executing patching routines. The engineer will contribute to deployment strategy, lead or support global software distribution, and ensure high availability and recoverability of Nextech platforms.This role also provides technical leadership, mentors junior engineers, and supports cross-functional initiatives based on business needs.All activities must be in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws, HIPAA, ERISA, and other regulations, as appropriate. Essential FunctionsCloud Platform Management:Support and enhance Nextech’s Azure-based infrastructure to ensure security, performance, and scalabilityMaintain a highly available, recoverable, and resilient application environmentLead or assist in multi-regional software distribution and deployment strategiesAutomation Optimization:Write and maintain scripts for system implementations, configurations, and environment automationOptimize Azure cost efficiency through resource monitoring and strategic provisioningExecute server patching and regular performance tuning routinesMonitoring Reporting:Set up and manage system monitoring, alerting, and health dashboardsGenerate environment reports that inform proactive issue resolution and capacity planningCollaboration Leadership:Participate in cross-functional planning and delivery of new software releasesProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineersCollaborate with stakeholders across teams to support evolving infrastructure needsPerform other duties as assigned to support business and operational goalsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with public cloud infrastructure (IaaS) and SaaS environments5 years of professional experience working with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)Proficiency in deploying and supporting applications built on .NET Framework and .NET CoreExperience with software development lifecycle tools such as Azure DevOps and Team Foundation ServicesStrong scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Perl, or similar languagesUnderstanding of multi-tenant architecture and centralized administration best practicesDeep knowledge of Azure Active Directory, including features, limitations, and identity management conceptsWorking knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning and query optimizationSolid grasp of network protocols, including TCP/IP and OSI model fundamentalsStrong understanding of IT security concepts, including encryption methods for data in transit and at restExperience applying infrastructure, network, and application security best practices for secure data handlingBackground in systems operations and platform management in enterprise-scale environmentsPreferred Qualifications Professional certification in Azure or AWS (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator)Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or BicepFamiliarity with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AKS)Exposure to monitoring and logging tools like Azure Monitor or Log AnalyticsPrior experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or finance Working Environment/Physical Demands 100% RemoteActivities require a significant amount of work in front of a computer monitor.Total RewardsGenerous annual bonus opportunity401(k) with Employer MatchFlexible Time Off: take time off when you need it without worrying about available hours10 paid holidays Volunteer Time OffInsurance: Choice of Medical, Dental, and Vision plansHealth Savings Account with employer matchFlexible Spending Account100% Company-Paid Parental leave100% Company-Paid Life Insurance and Short/Long Term Disability InsuranceNextech Luminary Peer Recognition ProgramWellness Program including discounts on medical premiumsEmployee Assistance Program with free counseling sessions availableCorporate Discounts on Retail, Travel, and EntertainmentPet Insurance optionsOriginally posted on Himalayas
