About the position

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Senior Catering Sales Manager for the beautiful Barton Creek Resort & Spa, which is ranked among the best resorts in Texas. This role is pivotal in driving the catering sales efforts for the resort, focusing on both new and repeat local catering business, including social and corporate markets that require less than 10 rooms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, upselling, and coordinating all details with clients to ensure their events are executed flawlessly. The Senior Catering Sales Manager will communicate function arrangements to all responsible hotel departments and maintain ongoing communication with clients prior to conventions to initiate, negotiate, and close contracts for all catered functions. This role also involves coordinating with contracted vendors such as florists, entertainers, and decorators to provide complete client satisfaction and ensure proper event execution. The manager will be present onsite during each event to oversee setup and ensure client satisfaction, which may require working nights and weekends. In addition to maximizing revenues through upselling techniques, the Senior Catering Sales Manager will attend department meetings and complete other duties as assigned by management. They will work directly with clients to form Banquet Event Orders in accordance with hotel policies and procedures, ensuring that the group's goals are met. The position requires a professional appearance and attitude at all times, as well as the ability to solve group problems within the hotel's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
• Sell and solicit new and repeat local catering business (including the social and corporate markets) requiring less than 10 rooms.

• Plan, upsell, and coordinate all details with each client.
,
• Communicate function arrangements to all responsible hotel departments.
,
• Maintain communication with clients prior to conventions to initiate, negotiate, and close contracts for all catered functions.
,
• Coordinate with client's contracted vendors (flowers, entertainment, decoration, A/V, etc.) to provide complete client satisfaction and ensure proper event execution.
,
• Be present onsite during each event to ensure proper event setup and satisfaction of client, which may involve nights and weekends.

• Maximize revenues for the hotel through upselling techniques.
,
• Attend department meetings and other company required trainings.
,
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

• Ensure all necessary items are in the group file.
,
• Work with clients directly to form Banquet Event Orders within the guidelines of the hotel's policies and procedures.

• Work with sales, reservations, front desk, and parking to ensure group's arrival and stay is consistent with hotel standards.

• Solve all group problems to the best of your or the hotel's ability within hotel's policies and procedures.

• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.

Requirements
• 2+ years of experience as a Senior Catering Sales Manager, and/or like experience in event planning.
,
• Experience within weddings preferred.
,
• At least 2 years experience in a hotel setting, preferably 4 or 5 diamond resort.
,
• Experience with Delphi is a plus.
,
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
