You'll work closely with our Senior Business Development Managers to generate high-quality leads and set up meetings with decision-makers.We're looking for someone who is eager to learn about the challenges facing CTOs, CIOs, and software engineering teams, and who can effectively communicate how Leighton's services can help solve their problems.Measuring successThe success of a BDR will be measured in four primary ways:Number of qualified leads generated - converting prospects into sales-ready opportunitiesQuality of prospect meetings arranged - setting up meetings that convert to pipelineActivity metrics - calls made, emails sent, social touches, and prospect research completedPipeline contribution - supporting the sales team to convert your leads into customersKey responsibilitiesLead Generation & Prospecting:Research and identify potential enterprise customers within the software development industryBuild targeted prospect lists using various tools and databasesConduct outreach via phone, email, and social media to generate interestQualify prospects to determine fit and pain points before passing to senior team membersMarket Research & Intelligence:Research prospect companies to understand their technology challenges and business needsStay informed about industry trends and competitive landscapeGather insights about prospect organizations to personalize outreach effortsRelationship Building:Initiate conversations with CIOs, CTOs, and software engineering leadersBuild rapport and trust with prospects through consistent, value-driven communicationNurture long-term relationships with prospects not immediately ready to buySales Support:Schedule and coordinate meetings between qualified prospects and Senior BDMsPrepare briefing materials and prospect intelligence for handover meetingsSupport Senior BDMs during the sales process as neededMaintain accurate records of all prospect interactions in CRMActivity & Performance:Achieve monthly and quarterly targets for calls, emails, and meetings setProvide regular updates on pipeline activity and prospect statusParticipate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve skillsLearning & Development:Develop understanding of Leighton's service offerings and value propositionLearn about software development challenges and how consulting services solve themBuild knowledge of sales methodologies and best practicesWhat we're looking forEssential:0-2 years of business development, sales, or customer-facing experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong research and organizational abilitiesComfortable making cold calls and initiating conversations with senior executivesResilient and persistent - able to handle rejection and bounce back quicklyEager to learn about technology and software developmentSelf-motivated with strong work ethicDesirable:Previous experience in B2B sales or lead generationBasic understanding of software development or technology consultingExperience with CRM systems and sales toolsInterest in building a career in business developmentOrganisation structureThe Senior BDR will report to the Head of Business Development and work closely with Senior Business Development Managers.
